If I could design heaven it would be Potato Head Beach Club, in Bali. Situated on the beach in the bougie town of Seminyak in Bali, Potato Head is the perfect place to spend the day. The beach club is incredibly clean, well maintained and is finished with quarky decor. Nursing a hangover caused by the cheap liquor stirred into drinks at the clubs in Kuta, I almost missed out on this miraculous day. Arriving in afternoon we were placed on stand by for a Bali bed, so we secured our bags and jumped into the infinity pool.The pool bar, has an amazing list of unique signature beverages, all beautifully garnished and served in a variety of unique glasses,including a conch shell.

Back to that hangover, I scanned the menu and found the only think that can fix life, a Bloody Mary. For those of you how travel outside the US, it is a known fact that a proper Bloody Mary outside the 50 states is hard to come by. The discription of the cocktail included a house made mix with all the fixins. Rolling the dice, I went for it. Delicious and I was officially cured. Thoughout the day, we sampled the various signature concoctions, the favorite being a shared beverage called ‘Spiced Indonesian Island Punch’ favored with nutmeg and served in a large fish bowl.After about an hour wait, a Bali bed was available and we moved our party into the sun. The Bali bed can accommodate 4 adults and is a comfy and cozy place to relax. While Potato Head does not charge to use the Bali bed, there is a minimum tab one must spend to utilize the service, which works out to about 2 drinks a person. After getting settled we decided on an afternoon snack of nachos and Ceviche.
The remainder of our afternoon we spent playing in pool, jumping the ocean waves and of course ordering more food and drinks. Our dinner included a charcuterie and cheese board, which is an unusual thing to find in Southeast Asia and all delicious. After sampling all the drinks that had sparked our interests, well after sundown we finally packed up and headed home.
Potato Head Beach Club is by far one of my favorite places on earth. Def sitting the list for one of the best afternoons of my life. Thanks Patty and Boo for finding it!!!
