On our week long road trip through 5 states, any time we mentioned “Utah,” the High West Distillery came up as a must. The 10-minute detour off the I-80 was absolutely warranted. It could have been the week on the road or the sober days stuck in the boonies, but it was worth every penny and calorie.
We started with the pretzel and beer cheese, accompanied by pickles and spicy mustard that I’ll probably dream about for awhile. I ordered the 3:10 to Yuzu, a rye cocktail with a Japanese twist, while my boyfriend ordered a 1-1/2oz High West Campfire rye on rocks. We decided to split the lunch special Rueben with fries and continue to dip the fries in the beer cheese and mustard.
As satisfied and full as we were, I kept seeing tiny bowls of onion soup coming out and decided we had to split that too… for the experience, obviously. The product was amazing, the atmosphere was cozy and rustic, and our server David took excellent care.
This is a must for anyone passing through the Park City area.
